Why Does Public Policy Matters?

Public policy refers to decisions made by governments and institutions to tackle societal issues, which can greatly impact individuals, businesses, and society as a whole. Public policy is designed to (1) promote the public good by addressing important social and economic issues.

Public policy also (2) provides protection to vulnerable groups, (3) maintains social order and prevents conflicts by establishing laws and regulations that govern behavior, (4) promotes justice, equality, and fairness, and (5) fosters democratic participation by allowing citizens to participate in the decision-making process.

Public policy matters because it affects the well-being of individuals and society as a whole, and plays a crucial role in shaping the future of our communities and the world. Of utmost importance; It's either public policy that would facilitate or dictate our lives.

Our Approach

  • We publish articles and policy papers periodically, only in response to certain issues and major concerns in order to maintain the quality of the article writing.

  • We are trying our best to write and publish articles in both languages; Malay and English language.

  • For the time being, our articles cater to individuals interested in gaining knowledge about public policy at the beginner and intermediate levels. Yet, it might be helpful for anyone from any level as well.

Board of Advisors

  • Several high-profile individuals have been appointed along with those from diverse backgrounds - to be named as our Board of Advisors (BOA).

  • However, the roles played by the members of the BOA in LUBNA are slightly different compared to the usual BOA of other entities.

  • In all sincerity; Part of the BOA members were former employers before - but will forever remain as mentors and references, particularly in public policy.

  • Thus, we are more at ease referring to our Board of Advisors as advisers and mentors, emphasizing their role in providing guidance and support to this platform - yet have absolutely no personal interest or return on their behalf.
